On Wednesday at 3:33 p.m. the National Weather Service released a beach hazards statement in effect until Saturday Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. for Catalina/Santa Barbara Islands.
“Dangerous rip currents and elevated surf. Tidal overflow will flood some normally dry beach areas,” can be expected according to the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA . “Elevated surf will be highest through Thursday. High tides of 7.2 to 7.8 feet MLLW will occur between 6 and 10am each morning.”
