NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Attorney General is calling out the College Sports Commission over a new agreement that could reshape college athletics.
AG Jonathan Skrmetti and seven other states are taking issue with the commission’s University Participant Agreement. He said the agreement was sent to the power four conferences, including the SEC, the Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC.
Skrmetti claims the CSC’s plan could cause schools to lose money and face a postseason ban if anyone sues or investigates the commission’s rules. Skrmetti is urging the CSC to withdraw its agreement.
For context, the College Sports Commission was created by a settlement that allows colleges to share revenue directly with student-athletes.
