LINCOLN, Neb. —

Two voter-approved medical marijuana measures from Nebraska’s 2024 ballot remain tied up in litigation, and on Wednesday, the case reached the Nebraska Supreme Court.

The dispute centers on an effort to throw out thousands of petition signatures that helped place the initiatives on the ballot. Former state Sen. John Kuehn alleged widespread fraud and malfeasance during the signature-gathering process.

“If this case is not a case where petitioners lose their presumption of validity due to notary malfeasance, then there isn’t one,” Kuehn's attorney, Andrew La Grone, told the justices.

The lawsuit also drew in Secretary of State Bob Evnen. Evnen was initially in the crosshairs after certifying the ballot initiatives. But he later reversed course, saying the measures should
