TONOPAH, AZ (AZFamily) — A social media tip led to the discovery Wednesday of more than a dozen dogs that were living in terrible conditions in Tonopah, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said.
Somebody tipped off MCSO online, so detectives from the MCSO Animal Crimes Unit went out to the property and found multiple dogs living in a shed. Deputies said they were neglected, didn’t have fresh air and were forced to live in their own feces.
Bodycam video from a deputy showed trash, miscellaneous items and debris covering the backyard. At least eight dogs could be seen in the video inside the shed, living in filthy conditions. Investigators said the dogs were inside the shed for at least a month.
