ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
On Wednesday afternoon, Albuquerque crews began preparing for light snow that is expected to coat the city overnight.
With up to 1 inch in snow and high winds in the forecast, the city advises that supervisors will begin patrolling overnight to identify and address dangerous road conditions.
The city has 12 plow and salt-spreader drivers on standby, with more available if the storm intensifies. The city also estimates it has enough beds available for anyone who wants one to escape the cold weather.
Residents are asked to stay 50 feet behind plow trucks for everyone's safety.
To help get people indoors, Albuquerque Community Safety (ACS) will again operate its emergency, after-hours transportation service.
