Redlands leaders continue to invest millions to tackle homelessness in the city and expand mental health services.
Redlands City Council members unanimously approved using $2 million from the state’s Proposition 47 Grant Program during their Tuesday, Dec. 2, meeting — funds that will support agreements with local nonprofit organizations and other city partners.
Part of the grant will also fund three temporary positions in the city’s Homeless Solutions Division.
Assistant City Manager Chris Boatman attributed much of the “unprecedented reductions in the homeless population” to Redlands Homeless Solutions Coordinator David Rabindranath and his staff. Boatman also said the “tens of millions of dollars” of awarded grants have helped.
