Rosie Kennedy has been riding the trails of Ipswich, Massachusetts, for years without incident. But one moment changed everything — and now, she's sharing her story in the hopes that it never happens again.
Kennedy and her horse, Pops, were regulars on the scenic paths near Appleton Farms in Ipswich. Twice a week, they would trot through the fields and woods.

"Pops and I would have a little love fest every morning — a hug and a kiss, and I'd scratch his little ear and we'd have a little private chat," Kennedy said.
But on Nov. 21, as they approached railroad tracks, something startled Pops — a cyclist riding along the tracks.
