Artificial Intelligence (AI) research firm and the creator of ChatGPT, OpenAI, may have joined hands with India’s largest IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), to expand its presence in India by building AI compute infrastructure and co-develop agentic AI solutions for enterprises, according to a report of Economic Times. The ongoing talks came on the heels of recent announcements by Google to invest $15 billion to build India’s AI hub in Andhra Pradesh.

OpenAI seems to begin the Indian leg of its mega Stargate project and had begun the groundwork.

The AI research firm was in engagement and negotiations with Reliance Industries earlier, according to Economic Times report. However, two sides failed to agree on terms.
