CLEVELAND — Inferno and Rum Runners, two popular nightlife venues in Cleveland's Flats East Bank, have permanently closed their doors, citing economic pressures affecting the hospitality industry.

In a joint statement posted Wednesday on social media, the two venues announced they would cease operations immediately after evaluating their business operations and market conditions.

"This decision was carefully made after evaluation of our operations and the economic pressures currently affecting the hospitality and nightlife industry," the venues said in a joint statement posted on social media. "While we explored multiple options, continuing under current market conditions has proven unsustainable."
