ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KALB) - St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office reported an ongoing search for two escaped inmates on December 3:

Keith Eli, 24, of Opelousas, who was charged with:

Attempted 2nd Degree Murder

Johnathan Joseph, 24, of Opelousas, who was charged with:

Principal to First Degree Rape

Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana

Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Possession of a Firearm w/CDS

Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number

Both men were in jail for violent crimes, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz, and neither should be approached by the public. Instead, if you see either Eli or Joseph, you are asked to contact either your local authorities, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office or 911.
