Citizens have been advised to store adequate water and use the resource judiciously as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to impose a 15 per cent water cut across 17 wards spanning 24 hours from December 8 to 9 in order to replace the water supply line upto Bhandup water treatment plant.
According to officials, works will be undertaken to replace the 2,750mm water channel from Tansa—that supplies water from Tansa dam to the water treatment plant in Bhandup— with a new one. The work will be executed over a 24-hour period from 10am on December 8 to 10am on December 9, due to which water supply to the Bhandup plant will be affected by 15 per cent.
