New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India today for a two day official visit, marking an important moment in the long standing partnership between India and Russia. The visit began with a private dinner hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflecting the close diplomatic ties between the two leaders. Putin’s trip is his first visit to India since the start of the war in Ukraine in 2022. It comes at a time when both countries are looking to strengthen cooperation in energy, defence and trade, even as global geopolitical tensions continue.
