Omaha: Three Omaha police officers were injured, and a suspect was killed in a gunfire exchange at a local gas station.
Earlier on Wednesday, around noon, the suspect, a man in his 20s, reportedly shot a 61-year-old man multiple times in the chest at a grocery store, according to Police Chief Todd Schmaderer. Police obtained the suspect’s vehicle license plate and tracked him to the gas station.
The suspect entered a restroom, then exited and opened fire on the officers. Two officers were struck by gunfire, with a third hit by shrapnel. The officers returned fire, killing the suspect.
