Zach Brown admitted that all he needed was a chance to prove himself. For three seasons, that opportunity came at CD East, with Brown forging his own way as an unhinged linebacker.
His final prep season is ongoing, as Brown and the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders are preparing for a Roman Empire-sized rematch with Roman Catholic in Friday’s PIAA 5A championship at Cumberland Valley’s Chapman Field.
Brown remains a bit unhinged, but this won’t be his last football game, either.
Taking advantage of the NCAA early signing period, Brown, McD’s athletic defensive end, signed to continue his career at Eastern Michigan University.
“Ever since I was a freshman, I just wanted that chance,” Brown said Wednesday during a signing ceremony at 1 Crusader Way.
