A quake has rattled north-west England, jolting dozens from their sleep as their homes 'shook'. Sky News reports that the 3.3-magnitude tremor hit Lancashire in the late hours of Wednesday.

The seismic activity kicked off at 11.23pm on Wednesday night, December 3, according to initial data. Scores of people have reported being roused by their homes trembling .
