GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — It was a busy day for towing companies across Grand Rapids on Wednesday, with iced-over roads and highways due to an afternoon burst of freezing drizzle turning into snow.
Barry Bussell with ‘I-96 Towing & Repair’ said that his truck had picked up more than 30 cars by 5:30.
“I would say in the Grand Rapids area, we're up around 28 or 29," Bussell said. "In Ionia County, I think we had 10 or 11.”
With the transition to snow and the highways getting some treatment around rush hour, Bussell said that they were able to catch a break before they get back at it after dark.
“The plow trucks are out, so definitely there has been a drop," Bussell said. "As nighttime goes on though, and people get riskier with how they drive at night, we'll probably see more [Wednesday nigh
