Srinagar, Dec 4 : A severe cold wave has tightened its grip over Kashmir as temperatures plunged further below freezing across the Valley on Wednesday night, a local weather monitoring agency said on Thursday.
According to data compiled by the independent weather forecaster, Srinagar recorded a bone-chilling minimum of -4.0°C, marking one of the coldest nights of the season so far. Qazigund registered -3.6°C, while tourist destination Pahalgam continued to shiver at -4.8°C.
Other stations in the Valley also witnessed harsh conditions: Kupwara logged -3.2°C, Kokernag -0.8°C, and Gulmarg -1.0°C.
Peripheral and south Kashmir areas saw even lower temperatures. Pampore dropped to -5.0°C, Srinagar Airport to -4.6°C, and Awantipora to -4.0°C. Budgam settled at -4.2°C, while Anantnag, Baramull
