Delhi woke up to a biting chill on Thursday morning, shrouded by smog in several locations. Amid a dip in temperature, the national capital registered a slight improvement in pollution levels from the previous days. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 298 at 9 am under the ‘poor’ quality on December 4, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Several monitoring stations, however, reported AQI readings in the ‘very poor’ range today. The morning commute caused discomfort to many as the cold wind swept through the city. Meanwhile, a layer of toxic smog engulfed the national capital region during the early morning hours, sparking health concerns among the residents.
