CHESTNUT HILL — Overtime has not been kind to the Boston College Men’s Basketball team this season.
After turning a 14-point first half deficit into a five-point second half lead, the Eagles couldn’t get the knockout punch to put away the LSU Tigers. Several missed opportunities allowed LSU to score four points in the final minute to send the game to overtime.
In the extra period, the Eagles ran out of steam, failing to hit a shot. Meanwhile the Tigers were perfect from the field and the free throw line to win 78-69 at the Conte Forum on Wednesday.
“We put ourselves in a position to win. We came up short in the end. It’s disappointing to our players. We played BC basketball today,” BC coach Earl Grant said.
