Riamal : Two persons were killed, including a 70-year-old man, after being attacked by a wild tusker in Deogarh district’s Riamal area on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred in Juradanga village under the Riamal Forest Section in Deogarh district.
The deceased have been identified as Kunja Dehuri (70) and Ranjita Behera (35), wife of Dillip Behera.
According to reports, Ranjita was attacked by a tusker while she was going to pluck flowers around 6:30 am on Thursday. Locals rescued her. She was soon rushed to Chhendipada Health Centre and later shifted to Angul District Headquarters Hospital for further treatment. She, however, succumbed while undergoing treatment.
