Scores of residents in Mazabuka braved the scorching sun at Checkmate to witness the artistic farewell of late musician Allan Mapiki.

Several Cuundu artists performed during the sendoff, with more expected to take the stage as the musician’s body makes its way to Chikankata ahead of his burial tomorrow morning in the Nadezwe area.

Mapiki passed away in the early hours of Monday. Social media is flooded with pictures from the event, with one particular image of a woman twerking like its nobody business drawing significant attention, and prompting many fans to express their desire to attend the farewell in person.
