HMRC has confirmed Child Benefit will rise from April next year - here's what it could mean for you
Parents and guardians could see an increase in cash support next year. Following the Autumn Budget announcement by Chancellor Rachel Reeves in the House of Commons last week, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) confirmed the annual increase for Child Benefit and Guardian's Allowance.
Child Benefits and Guardians Allowance payments will be adjusted in accordance with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the year to September 2025, which stands at 3.8 per cent. Consequently, from April 2026, the Child Benefit rate for the eldest child will rise from £26.05 to £27.05 per week, while the rate for other children will go up from £17.25 to £17.90 per week.
