CALUMET — The Calumet Copper Kings scored twice in the second period, but surrendered a pair in the third to skate to a 3-3 tie Tuesday with the Marquette Sentinels at the Calumet Colosseum.
Robert Loukus led the Copper Kings with two goals and an assist in the contest.
His first tied things at 1-1 with 2:00 left on the clock in the opening frame. Kaden Cronenworth picked up the lone assist.
Loukus then picked up an assist on a goal by Rogan Gronlund just 7:23 into the middle period. Lewis Nagel earned the other assist on the goal.
Then Loukus scored his second of the night, and second of the year, just over three minutes later. Cronenworth and Drake Niemela both assisted on the goal.
Marquette struck first 8:27 into the game when Seth Sandstrom found the net.
