Community members leaned on song, prayer, and unity to support one another as they sought healing. Bishop Troy Dockery said the gathering was about restoring strength and hope. Mayor Christina Fugazi called for more federal and state funding to revive gang-intervention and prevention programs that were cut despite rising violence. She urged a return to proactive strategies like the city’s Marshall Plan and called for efforts to stop the flow of high-powered guns into neighborhoods. Attendees prayed for peace, comfort, and justice for the victims.
