Dibrugarh: Assam Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika has assured the people of Baghjan in Tinsukia district of a permanent solution to years of aggressive riverbank erosion, announcing that the government will deploy advanced ‘Mega Tube’ technology to tackle the Brahmaputra’s destructive flow.
Pijush Hazarika visited the affected sites where the Brahmaputra and its tributary, Ananta Nallah, have continued to erode land and threaten nearby settlements. He was accompanied by Sadiya MLA Bolin Chetia, Moran Autonomous Council CEM Arunjyoti Moran and senior officials of the Water Resources Department.
During the inspection, the minister identified two major channels of the river responsible for the erosion and detailed the planned intervention. T
