Australia left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc created history on the opening day of the second Test of the ongoing Ashes series with England in Brisbane. After England opted to bat first in the day-night contest, Starc, like he did in the series opener in Perth, gave the tourists an early jolt by getting rid of their opening batter Ben Duckett for a golden duck in the very first over.

Starc then dismissed Ollie Pope for a duck as well in quick succession which took his tally of wickets in Test cricket to 414 and he drew level with the record of legendary Wasim Akram for the most scalps in the format by a left-arm pacer.

The ‘King of Pink-Ball Cricket’ then had Harry Brook edge one to Steve Smith at the slip cordon which helped him surpass Akram and become the left-arm pacer with the most wicke
