Four MBBS doctors lost their lives after a speeding car they were travelling in crashed into a stationary DCM truck on the Delhi–Lucknow National Highway in Gajraula town of Amroha district, police said on Thursday.

According to eyewitnesses, the DCM truck loaded with foam mattresses was parked along the highway near Atarasi village, just 7 km from Shri Venkateshwara University, when, around 10:30 pm on Wednesday, the car slammed into it at high speed.

The collision was so severe that the front portion of the car became completely stuck inside the truck. A tractor had to be used to pull the vehicles apart, after which police cut through the mangled remains with a gas cutter to retrieve the bodies.
