New Delhi, Dec 4: The national capital was placed on high alert Thursday as authorities enforced a multi-layered security grid ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s arrival for a two-day visit.
Delhi Police said the exact location of Putin’s stay remains undisclosed due to strict security norms, while every movement from arrival to departure will be tracked by multiple security units operating jointly.
Over 5,000 police personnel have been deployed across the city, with senior officers supervising route security, traffic arrangements and area sanitisation at locations likely to be part of the president’s itinerary.
All routes mapped for VVIP movement have been secured in advance, and traffic advisories will be issued periodically to minimise inconvenience, officials said. Anti-dro
