Wonderla Holidays' newly-launched amusement park in Chennai, which opened to the public on December 2, saw a turbulent first day after multiple rides reportedly got stuck mid-air.

Several visitors took to social media to flag concerns about malfunctioning rides and shared videos showing attractions halting mid-operation. The park, which saw nearly 2,000 visitors on opening day, quickly drew criticism online, with some users alleging safety lapses and accusing the company of conducting "trial runs" with the public.

In a statement to Moneycontrol, Wonderla attributed the interruptions to "regional power fluctuations" on December 2, which caused "brief pauses in a few rides while the system switched to backup power".
