The Government of India on Thursday welcomed the release of Indian crew member Anilkumar Raveendran, who had been under detention in Yemen since July 7, 2025 while serving on the ship MV Eternity C.

Raveendran reached Muscat on Wednesday and is expected to travel back to India soon. The government said it had been coordinating efforts with various parties to ensure his safe release and return.

The Government of India also expressed its gratitude to the Sultanate of Oman for facilitating the release of Anilkumar Raveendran.

Raveendran, a former army personnel from Pathiyoor, was among the crew members of the Liberia-flagged MV Eternity C who went missing following a Houthi missile attack on the cargo vessel in the Red Sea.
