Bird flu has been confirmed in Warwickshire - key things to know
Warwickshire's most senior health boss has issued advice in the wake of confirmed cases of bird flu in North Warwickshire . CoventryLive reported that cases of avian influenza A(H5N1) in the wild bird populations at Kingsbury Water Park have been confirmed by the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).
The popular park remains open but Dr Shade Agboola, Director of Public Health, Warwickshire County Council , has urged park visitors and those who live locally to heed a number of warnings. While the risk to human health is low, Dr Agboola is appealing to people to make sure that they do not touch or go near any sick or dying birds.
