NEW DELHI: Swaraj Kaushal, former Mizoram governor and the husband of late union minister Sushma Swaraj passed away on Thursday at the age of 73. He was rushed to AIIMS after complaining of chest pain in the afternoon, where doctors declared him dead, a BJP leader said. The Delhi BJP in a statement, said: “We are sorry to inform the sudden demise of former Governor of Mizoram, senior advocate Swaraj Kaushal.” Kaushal is survived by his daughter, New Delhi BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj. He will be cremated at the Lodhi Road crematorium, according to a statement issued by the Delhi BJP.
