A sex offender from Waterloo has been arrested after being alone in a hotel room in Independence with three children in September, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 42 year old James Coleman was allegedly in the hotel room with three children under the age of three for five hours with no supervision. Coleman has been on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry since 2002 after he was convicted of Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse. He was 17 at the time and his victim was a 10 year old girl. He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
