Shredded Cheese Sold at Aldi, Walmart, and Target Recalled Nationwide
Federal food safety officials have announced a widespread recall of more than a million bags of shredded cheese distributed nationwide after tests suggested the products could contain metal fragments.
Great Lakes Cheese Co., based in Hiram, Ohio, initiated the voluntary recall in early October, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The action affects roughly 260,000 cases, more than 1.5 million individual bags, of shredded cheeses sold at major retailers, including Aldi, Publix, Target, and Walmart, across 31 states and Puerto Rico.
