Dec 4 (Reuters) - Theater chain AMC Entertainment said on Thursday that chief executive officer Adam Aron will continue in his role after suffering a minor stroke last month.

Aron, 71, had a stroke on November 17 in London, the company said, adding that he has been working full time following his release from the hospital.

He has resumed his duties as chairman, CEO and president, the company said.

Since he was appointed CEO in 2016, Aron has been credited with leading the company to become one of the largest cinema operators in the world and seeing it through the worst of the pandemic.

Aron rose to prominence in 2021 during the "meme stock" frenzy, when retail investors helped drive up the shares of AMC and video-game retailer GameStop.
