Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso has launched a bid for the soon-to-be-vacated Big Apple house seat — representing one of the most left-leaning districts in the country.
The 42-year-old is the first prominent lawmaker to formally enter the race for New York’s 7th Congressional District, which will be up for grabs when Rep. Nydia Velázquez retires next year after 16 terms.
“Nydia is a hero, a mentor, and a friend,” said Reynoso, who previously served as a District 34 councilman.
