As Christmas approaches, many will be firing up their wood burners to create a warm and cosy atmosphere for family gatherings. Recent UK Government data shows that approximately 1.5 million households rely on wood as a fuel source during the winter months.

This makes it crucial for people to avoid one common mistake when heating their homes. Robin Antill, founder of 1st Choice Leisure Buildings, has issued a warning about firewood errors that could potentially endanger homes. He refers to UK Government advice which states that burning wet wood produces 50% more emissions than its dry counterpart. New regulations regarding the sale of firewood were implemented in 2021.
