U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s arrival to Louisiana was was marked with dozens of agents in military-style gear popping up in neighborhoods and tourist hot spots across New Orleans and Jefferson Parish, with some arrests being caught on camera and many businesses shuttering to protect Hispanic workers and customers.

The immigration sweep, backed by President Donald Trump and supported by Gov. Jeff Landry, kicked off Wednesday after agents conducted similar sweeps in Los Angeles, Chicago and Charlotte. The Louisiana deployment is being called “Catahoula Crunch.”
