BOISE, Idaho — The Ada County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) uses the CodeRED system to alert the public to incidents and emergencies. However, the company that runs CodeRED announced that information had been taken from their systems.
ACSO shared the update on social media, saying it was "frustrated" to do so.
Crisis24, the operator of CodeRED, confirmed that the information held in the Ada County CodeRED account was obtained from one of the company's older systems. This happened as a result of a cyberattack, Crisis24 announced.
Names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and CodeRED passwords are all at risk.
ACSO states that Crisis24 is urging users to change their passwords and change any logins that may use the same password.
