England and Scotland will discover their World Cup opponents on Friday - but fans wanting to finalise their itinerary next summer will have to wait another 24 hours for the fixtures to be confirmed
The eagerly awaited 2026 World Cup draw is so complicated it’s going to take two DAYS for England and Scotland to learn their full schedule. The new bigger 48 team tournament means the draw is much more tricky to organise than in previous years.
So while England boss Thomas Tuchel and Scotland manager Steve Clarke will learn their opponents on Friday they will not get their fixtures or match venues confirmed until Saturday evening. Three Lions fans said while they understood why extra time was needed to confirm the 104 matches it had taken some of the excitement away from the draw.
