IndiGo cancelled over 300 flights on Thursday as it sought to stabilise operations badly impacted by a pilot shortage.

Cancellations were reported at all major airports, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, disrupting the travel plans of thousands of travellers. In Pune, other carriers were hit too, as all parking bays remained occupied in the morning due to an IndiGo pilot shortage. This resulted in the diversion of six flights, including those of IndiGo, Air India, Akasa Air and Fly 91.

An emergency landing of an IndiGo Airbus A320 bound for Hyderabad at Mumbai, following a bomb scare, added to the woes. A shortage of ground personnel at Mumbai airport also slowed down the operations, it is learnt.
