AIUDF MLA Zakir Hussain Laskar has predicted a landslide for BJP-Led Alliance in 2026 Assam Polls

In a startling twist in Assam politics, the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF)—usually a vocal critic of the BJP—has openly praised Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Taking it further, AIUDF MLA Zakir Hussain Laskar from Hailakandi claimed that the BJP-led alliance is poised for a massive victory in the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, predicting the ruling coalition could bag over 100 of 126 seats in the Assam Assembly.

Though an opposition legislator from Barak Valley, Laskar asserted there is “no power that can stop the BJP-led alliance and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Government” from returning to Dispur for another term.
