Former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram on Thursday left a heartwarming message for Australia’s Mitchell Starc, who broke his record of most Test wickets by a left-arm pacer, to etch his name into the history books on Day 1 of the second Ashes Test at the Gabba.
Starc overtook Akram’s record in the second session of Day 1 of the pink-ball Test against England at the Gabba on Thursday, claiming the historic wicket of Harry Brook. He had earlier struck in a fiery opening spell, dismissing Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope in a dominant display under the lights.
