The NFL honored a trio of players on Wednesday as it named the Week 13 AFC Player of the Week award recipients.

Leading off as AFC Offensive Player of the Week was Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who went 24-of-31 passing (good for a 77.4 completion percentage) and tallied 282 yards and two touchdowns as the Patriots earned a dominant 33-15 win over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. Maye was the only quarterback to complete more than 75 percent of his passes and throw for at least 260 yards in Week 13, and earned his first-ever Offensive Player of the Week award with the performance. He's also the first New England quarterback to earn the honor since the legendary Tom Brady last won the award in 2017.

Bills cornerback Christian Benford earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping anchor a dominant defensive performance for Buffalo in a 26-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Benford recorded two tackles, a tackle for loss, an interception, and a fumble recovery for a 17-yard touchdown in the victory, and he is the first NFL player since Kareem Jackson (Week 14, 2019) to record a tackle for loss, interception, and return a fumble for a touchdown in a single game. It is Benford's first-ever Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Finally, Bengals kicker Evan McPherson rounds off the list as the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. McPherson was critical in the Bengals' 32-14 Thanksgiving Day win over the Baltimore Ravens as he converted all six of his field goal attempts – 31, 42, 24, 33, 52, and 41 – and both of his extra-point attempts in the victory. His 20-point performance and his career-best six made field goals mark the most by any kicker in a single game this season. McPherson has now won four Special Teams Player of the Week awards in his career, and ties Doug Pelfrey for the most such awards won in franchise history.
