WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Peoria area’s Democratic Congressman wants to see the Secretary of War leave the role one way or another.
17th District Congressman Eric Sorensen of Moline released a statement Wednesday calling for Pete Hegseth to resign or be fired by President Trump.
Sorensen calls Hegseth “dangerously unqualified” to lead, in the wake of a Pentagon review that faulted Hegseth for using the chat program Signal to reportedly transmit sensitive information about planned strikes in Yemen.
“His recklessness in sending highly classified war plans over an unsecured messaging platform put our troops in danger. If anyone else had dared do this, they would’ve been fired long ago,” Sorensen said.
