On Thursday at 10 a.m. the National Weather Service released a snow squall warning in effect until 10:45 a.m. for Cameron, Elk, McKean, Potter, Tioga and Warren counties.

"At 9:58 a.m., a dangerous snow squall was located along a line extending from near Genesee to near Marienville, moving southeast at 35 mph," comments the weather service. "Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous within minutes."

Locations impacted by the warning include St. Marys, Ridgway, Kane, Wellsboro, Johnsonburg, Wharton, Coudersport, Port Allegany, Emporium, Smethport, Roulette and Galeton. This includes the following highways: Route 6 between wetmore and west of Smethport, near Smethport, between east of Smethport and west of Wellsboro, and from Wellsboro to Wellsboro.
