Udupi, Dec 4: A 13-year-old boy who had gone missing from his boarding hostel was safely rescued on Train No. 12133 Mangaluru Express on Thursday, thanks to the vigilance of Raghvendra Shetty, Head TTE of MAQ.

The boy was found travelling alone in coach S3 when Shetty noticed inconsistencies in his responses during ticket inspection. “When I checked his bag, I found a school ID card, which allowed me to immediately contact the school authorities,” said Shetty. It was then confirmed that the child had run away from his hostel. His mother, a domestic worker, was promptly informed that her son was safe.

Upon arrival at Udupi station, the boy was handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and placed in a Child Care Centre to ensure his safety until h
