HAWTHORNE, Fla. (WCJB) - It has been 19 years since James Edward Tuff died, and his case remains cold.

According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, in the afternoon on Dec. 4, 2006, Tuff was discovered by a passerby on the side of the 11000 block of Southeast County Road 2082 in Hawthorne.

Tuff, still alive at the time, told the witness that he was shot, but passed away before law enforcement arrived on the scene.
