The Pennsylvania Game Commission says it’s seeking tips in the illegal killing of a white-tailed deer in Northampton County.
A post on the commission’s Operation Game Thief Facebook page says the deer was shot with a firearm from an ATV using a spotlight.
The incident occurred, and the deer was found, along Cider Press Road near Williams Township Elementary School in Williams Township, according to the post.
A state game warden’s investigation suggests two ATVs were observed driving and shooting at deer on the school property about 3 a.m. Sunday.
Pennsylvania’s regular firearms season for whitetails opened Saturday. Legal hunting hours for all small and big game are limited to a half-hour before sunrise to a half-hour after sunset.
