Three youths accused of a hate-motivated attack on numerous people at an Ottawa transit station Tuesday afternoon are facing charges, including for weapons offences, police say.
Ottawa police say they were called around 3:15 p.m. to a reported assault at the OC Transpo stop attached to the Billings Bridge Shopping Centre, where officers found three youths hurling slurs at more than one person.
Police say the attack then turned physical. The youths are accused of threatening multiple people with two conducted energy weapons, including a bystander who tried to intervene.
The three youths were arrested and now face numerous charges related to uttering threats, assault and weapons. Police aren't naming the suspects because of their age.
CBC News has asked police for more information.
